Just had an amazing conversation today with Nick Rimza who told me about a project he’s working on. Say you’re an entrepreneur just starting out – you have an idea, but you haven’t started building anything and you obviously don’t have any customers to speak of, but you’re jazzed and you’re starting to spend some time on your project. One way to keep yourself motivated and on track is to have a record of your progress, little notes that show where you’ve been and where you are now. If you then post those progress notes to people who are interested in what you are building, they are going to take part in your journey and when it’s time to launch, you’ll have a solid fan base to reach out to. Now where do you get this initial cohort of people to notify of your progress? That’s the kicker – the platform Nick and friends are building is going to offer incentives for subscribers to bring other people in.
The combination of a motivational tool and a marketing technique blew me away and I’m so excited by the prospects of this that I’m going to try to implement it here, on the Wuju blog.
I’m going to post progress reports here on the Wuju blog and I’m going to set up a small mailing list to send this out to. The initial group of people here will be friends, family and people I’ve talked to about Wuju already, and I’m going to figure out a way to get y’all to sign more people up.
